Floating Farmhouse Shelves

I love the look of these easy farmhouse floating shelves. They're quick to put together and make a big difference in adding a little character to a kitchen or anywhere else in the home.

We made this string art pumpkin for a pop of fall on our shelves. And I always love adding green to a space. Succulents are my absolute favorite, but the potted artificial plants at ikea are easier to keep alive!

Farmhouse Table--Ikea Table Makeover

We had an Ikea table that was black which worked great for our family for many years. We recently discovered a handful of people on Pinterest who layed wood over their existing Ikea tables to create a new fresh look! We originally had a lot of black furniture in our home which we have been progressively been painting or swapping out. The gray and white make the room look so bright which I love! For the grey finish, I used a grey stain and then dry brushed some white in some areas with a sponge. I applied a satin Polycrylic for easy cleanup, and to give it just a slight shine. The wood for refinishing the table was less than $50, and the bench wood was just about $40!

The bench was made by the hubs and I on a Saturday--seriously so easy. I love the Ana White website. She lays out all the details on how to build a piece of furniture so that even beginners can tackle something like this! I got the chairs from American Furniture Warehouse--another one of my favorite place to find great deals on furniture!

Fall Decor

It's the most wonderful time of the year...pumpkin season that is! I love decorating for fall more than any other season!

While I was out in Virginia visiting my dad a few years ago, he had a bunch of old windows that he was replacing in his home. So I snagged one and drove it all the way across the country back home to Arizona. My kids weren't thrilled with our extra space being taken up by a window--but it was well worth it in my opinion!

I made the antiqued block pumpkins as well as the "hello FALL" sign. And this banner was a $3 steal from Target!

Refinished Farmhouse Piano

We are so excited to share our DIY journey with you as we transform our stucco desert houses into cozy farmhomes!

Right now we are working on refinishing some kitchen cabinets that are not so pretty, and we can't wait to reveal them!

For now I want to share my refinished piano! This is an old piano made in New York, we bought it from a family who moved it all the way here to Arizona.

I added some Arizona love with some state string art and succulents. The cute white lantern was a steal from the As Is section at Ikea. If you haven't taken a stroll through there go now! I always find something fun to add to the home! I also made the runner which is reversible, and the cotton and burlap wreath.
